This feature documentary tells the stories of Japanese women who
married American military men occupying their country after WWII.
Besides marrying their former enemies, all War Brides from Japan
entered into interracial marriages and gave birth to mixed-race children because all American military men stationed in Japan then were either black or white. The rare exception was Japanese American Military Intelligence Service officers who married Japanese nationals.
Even though Japanese War Brides readily accepted their new English language, American-style homes and Western customs, they still retained pride in their culture and taught it to their children.
